About What's Next

In partnership with LeaderSpring Center, based in Oakland, California, TSNE Missionworks offers the What’s Next: Leading a Thriving Transition program to support long-time leaders prepare their organizations and themselves for leadership transition to ensure ongoing sustainability. Organizations are constantly going through changes and one of the most destabilizing can be leadership departure. Our cohort-based What’s Next program helps to build the capacity of nonprofit leaders to address succession and executive transition issues.

Exiting is a critical leadership function and it requires careful planning. The What’s Next program features two intensive retreats, individual coaching and an ongoing support network of leaders facing similar changes. Participants engage in confidential, thoughtful and strategic discussions on leadership transition that help them to prepare themselves and their organizations.

Through study and interactive learning activities, leaders prepare for their departure by engaging in reflection on executive transitions, succession planning and sustainability tools and best practices.  TSNE has done extensive research on executive transition and leaders are exposed to the research, develop an action plan that helps them through their next steps, and prepare their organization for the eventual transition.
